Meet Michael

Michael Laser is a Venture Partner at Eclipse, where he draws on his experience building and investing in companies to support teams from formation through scale.

Before joining Eclipse, Michael co-founded and built Second Avenue, a single-family rental real estate investment and technology platform that grew into a 200-person organization and deployed $1B in capital. He helped guide the company from its earliest stages through exit, overseeing system and infrastructure development, capital formation, strategy, and day-to-day investment and operational functions.


Prior to Second Avenue, Michael began his investing career at Coatue Management, working across both venture and public markets. Over the past decade, he has continued to invest in and advise companies at various stages, supporting founders and leadership teams as they navigate capital strategy, growth, and scalable execution.


Originally from Chicago, Michael was captain of the Dartmouth tennis team and later competed on the ATP Tour. He lives in Chicago with his wife, Lauren, and enjoys spending time in the mountains and on the court.
