Founded in 2023 by Sumeet Trehan, Starboard was created on the belief that independent forwarders can outperform global incumbents when equipped with modern AI systems and shared network-scale advantages — directly aligned with Eclipse’s thesis of upgrading the physical economy through applied AI. Since launch, Starboard has deployed agentic quoting, automated rate-ingestion, procurement networks,  that materially expand margins and improve execution speed for forwarders.

Starboard now supports forwarders across North America and Asia and processes thousands of commercial and operational transactions monthly, rapidly becoming a core system of record for pricing, procurement, and fulfillment. The opportunity is vast: over 100,000 forwarders globally still operate on email and spreadsheets, lacking modern infrastructure to scale.

Starboard’s ambition is to become the default operating system and agentic marketplace for global trade, powering the next generation of forwarders and shippers with automation, intelligence, and network leverage.
